Townley TwoTwoEveryone knew Townley was going to get hurt, but damn, before he even saw the bike? That is a new level of injury commitment. I mean talk about wanting it. People are starting to whisper that James is the king of crash and Ben is saying “Wait just a fucking minute. I am the all-knowing ruler of getting hurt,” and pile drives himself into the dirt, not given one fuck the entire time. Say what you want about that career move, but you have to admire the man’s drive to be number one. Probably what Chad saw in him, albeit a bit off target.

The Australia BROs Are Doing Well With Not Giving A Fuck

The Australia nationals opened up this week. I think Australia’s lack of interesting anything is a good thing because it leads everyone there to just not care at all what anyone else does. In essence, the land of Oz is the BROtocross of countries, and I support them for that. Just look at this shit, track builders clearly do not give a fuck and are inviting the riders to display just how little fucks they give with a jump like this. Racers know that doing huge jumps like this actually does not call on skill too much, it’s just all balls. They do an excellent job weeding out the fuck-givers from the no-fuck-givers.

Townley To TwoTwo Is Officially A Done Deal

So this was actually kind-of announced last night (and rumored to be happening like three weeks ago), but Reed just tweeted about it so it’s official. Twitter official. It is interesting that I broke this news last night on FB and Twitter because a lot of people responded and it really opened my eyes to how stupid oh so many people are out there. All this dumb shit about how Chad is blowing it with Townley. What do you people want? Yeah, Townley will probably get hurt, that tends to be what happens to him. Maybe he won’t. Chad hired him to be a 5th place guy, maybe a couple of podiums. Fuck, Suzuki did that with Dungey in 2010 and he was so good it bankrupted them. Twonley (copyrighted) won’t be winning, but we can be pretty sure that Chad already knows that. He has to say that they are going for wins, that is press release quotes 101. Get the sponsors out there, couple of top 5s, save that bonus money, come back next year. Like a boss.

Ben Townley Signs With Beer Company Honda In Australia

Ben TownleyFrom MotoOnline – Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing has officially announced that 2004 MX2 Motocross World Champion Ben Townley will ride in Australia full time next season. Townley will join British MX1 Motocross Champion Brad Anderson at the factory Honda team, with the duo to contest the Open class onboard Honda’s CRF450R. “It has taken some time to reach this point,” Townley admitted. “I was intent on racing in the USA again but things didn’t work out there, and during that time I’d had on going talks with Yarrive about racing for Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing if things didn’t work out in America.

Am I the only one who is scratching his head with this? Like, Townley is fast, why does he need to be fucking around in Australia? I feel like Ari Gold when he met Lloyd’s boyfriend – BRO, you could get girls, what are you doing? I get it that he shit the bed last year, but he was racing in Europe so he was way too depressed to perform on the motorcycle. Where would you rather be racing? Sunny SoCal, or some war-torn slum in Yugoslavia? It is clearly going to affect your attitude out on the track. The reason that Townley was good in the GPs before was because he had not tasted the sweet nectar of American life yet.

But, do not think that I have missed the fact that Townley is riding for a beer company. You know that took some of the sting out of signing a contract in not-America. Oh, have fun with cases stacked to the ceiling of your energy poison, BROs, I am going to have a beer or twelve out on the beach. Beer companies really should be in MX. Riders drink that shit much more often than Monster or Rockstar, you can take that to the bank.
